focus on the American releases, but make it wide open. The idea is to scare 60-year-old Johnny Cash fans.

Soundgarden - Rusty Cage
Nine Inch Nails - Hurt
Shel Silverstein - A Boy Named Sue
Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers - I Won't Back Down

What else?

Not sure if its strictly a cover, but Ring of Fire was written by June.

AND I CANNOT BELIEVE THEY DIDN'T COVER THIS IN THAT LAME-ASS MOVIE:

Johnny DREAMED the Mariachi Trumpets, and then went into the studio and cut it that way.

Kris Kristofferson did "Sunday Morning Coming Down"

Bob Dylan "It Ain't Me Babe"

I'm sure there's lost more.

I like his cover of Bonnie 'Prince' Billy's "I See a Darkness".

He didn't write "Cocaine Blues", but I'm sure older Cash fans know that one. I'm not sure who it would be considered a cover of, but I think others were known to play it before him.
