Val's Halla in Oak Park is closing.
Just read it in the paper today.
I assume you already knew, Matt... and it most certainly affects you the most.

I have never been there, but it looks like an awesome little shop.
And I was sad to see another one bite the dust.

It's shops like Val's where I really nurtured my obsession.
It's sad to see them all go -- pushed out by the chains and downloading.

Val has been a part of the music industry in one way or another since roughly 1966.

Doors are closing in July.
She may open another shop sometime, but it would most likely deal ONLY in used records and CDs.
