- Came down with a cold last Saturday.

- Stayed home and rested---not leaving the house for 4 days straight.

- Slept lots

- Drank copious amounts of water, OJ & lemon tea

- Took piles of Vitamin C & "Cold effects"

- Back at work today... but apparently I'm STILL SICK.

Argh.

The flu is going around.

Even if its not the flu, they say that if you just get the common cold you will be sick for 7 to 10 days no matter what you do or take.

you'll feel better after 5 days normally, if it's the common cold, but you'll still be congested and a bit off for the next few. you are still contagious after at least 5 days, sometimes 7, generally speaking.

Note: my source for this is my father who is a pediatrician. I trust him in his medical knowledge, but I he could still be wrong I guess.

It sounds like you did everything you were supposed to (fluids, rest etc.), so it must be a resilient bug, whatever you've got. If you can, go home and sleep it off some more. T.O. seems kind of rainy and dank today by the weather, so that can't be helping either.

Kid has bronchitis and been home sick with it ALL week. I took off tues and today with him, and Josh took off to stay with him yesterday.

In return I received a bad cold. And it really fucking sucks to be sick when pregnant because you CAN"T TAKE ANYTHING!!! ARRRGGHHh

I want my sinuses back. Pronto. Last night I couldn't breathe while sleeping and ended up snoring so badly my husband ended up on the couch to get away from me.

Plus we have a wedding to go to sat night and I better be ok by then or I'm killing someone.

Whoa. Still contagious? I'm kind of on my 6th day now. I'm quarantining myself at work: asking to be exempt from today's meeting & staying in my office. I'd hate to give it to someone else.

I have had a head and chest cold for over a week thus prompting me to get off the juice. I was feeling a little better, but I slipped into some wine last night, which seems to have postponed the recovery.

Hope you get better soon. Keep it in check 'cause I know some friends and one in my family that developed pneumonia recently. Be well.

There really is a whole gang of us sickies here.

Mine was probably brought on by some weird combo of

1) vacuuming our extremely dusty hallway carpet
followed by...
2) 2 martinis in 1 hour
followed by...
3) about 5 hours of walking in the cold (the next day)
