Yikes !

You live in my 'HOOD! I was just at Ray's last saturday.
We live down near the Sentry on 68th & State.

Ohhh! And BTW, I will be at the Belle & Sabastian show. Lookin' forward to it.

I suppose I do. PLEASE ALERT THE COPS TO INSTITUTE HEAVIER PRESENCE. May God have mercy on your soul -- moreso, the children's souls -- if you don't.

To other things, the Obner meet-up pre-show: I think Mo's Irish Pub, since it will be more casual than the Cucina (which prolly isn't that fancy, but...). We'll still be able to support the Johnny V brand, though.

ALL HAIL HE WHO SHALL CONQUER THE KING. I'm thinking it'll be LooGAR (assuming Squirrrgggle can get him up here).

Mo's is good. Boxty!

We just went to the "Old German Beer Hall" on Old World 3rd next to Buck Bradleys and had a good time. Easy to drink there as well...

Though German beer isnt as close to Scottish as Irish Guinness and Smithwicks. Alas, so many choices....

All we need now is a pub that serves exclusively Belgian Beers.

I would have gone with Turner Hall (that's what you mean, no?) or something suitably Teutonic, but Mo's is proximal the Riverside... In fact, it's all up on that.

Yup.

I'll try to find Atomic today and the beer stores mentioned. I guess we're moving into the library hill apartments this weekend. We got a new car yesterday and things seem to be moving along.

I'll try to meet up before the show on the 11th.

Any good albums come out lately? I've been away from all my usual resources.

I'll be there tonight with my fiancee and two friends. It'll be two blonde white boys and two brunette ladies. I'll be wearing a light blue KEXP t-shirt. Hopefully we'll be able to run into each other.

Matt

I don't remember seeing that shirt. I was able to get tickets at the box office despite it being sold out. I enjoyed the show quite a bit. Cool venue.

We'll all have to try and get together some other time.

I was sitting about four or five rows from the back on the very left.

I finally have internet in Milwaukee so i can get back into the swing of things on this board.

Anyone in the area going out tomorrow? Is it a bad idea?

YESS!

I was... I was sitting almost directly next to the sound guys (on the left side of them), on the isle, about 4-6 rows from the back (center section). I was sitting on the arm of the chair, and the security guard in our area, came and told me to sit on the chair properly....

Did you see me?

I will be at County Clare downtown on Astor, and Knapp Streets. I will be there with a few friends, and their spouses etc. My wife is still in Honduras though, so she won't be around to curtail me.

Milwaukee will be seething with people in bars drinking Guinness. Also lots of Coppers, so be warned.

yes, i did. we were sitting in the middle of the row behind you. i looked over and you looked really familiar, but i couldn't place you at all. do you come to shows in chicago? and then on monday, i was curious and went to the cmj revealed website and connected the dots. part of me did want to go over and ask, "do you post on a messageboard with a funny name?" i thought that'd be embarrassing for both of us if i wasn't right, though.

Is that close to anything major downtown? How close to the riverside because i'm about 7 blocks from there?

Is that inside/near the Knickerbocker is the better question.

Also, the sluts who work there are pretty easy... Don't ask me how I know that, though, because -- [dr. sugarman]that's confidential[/dr. sugarman].

Bahh You should have come over and said "Hiya"... I was there with a colleague of my wife's... (the guy next to me) , and his girlfriend from out of town. They are both 22-23, and I am 37, so I felt a bit like their chaperone. They had a good time, and so did I. As for your question about seeing shows in Chicago. Sometimes yes, but it has been getting more and more rare lately. It seems like Milwaukee has been pulling in most of the bands I want to see. That and I dread the drive home afterward. Not that it is detering me from seeing a band this saturday night with my brother....

That said, I was at the HOB in downtown Chicago last weekend and found this great Irish bar around the corner from it. O'Callahan's or Callahans. Either way, they had English Premiere League Soccer on the toob, and good Smithwicks on tap. A great place to kill an hour before a show.

Next time you come up, like for Neko Case or Sigur Ros, etc. give me a post.

It is basically downtown, just on the eastern side of it. If you are at the Riverside, you just follow Wisconsin Avenue east (toward the lake, go across the river) to Van Buren, take a left, travel along Van Buren 5 ish blocks to Juneau, take a right, travel along Juneau a few blocks to Astor, Take a left, and you will see this kind of Peach colored building on the right. That is County Clare. Its a very nice B & B with Restaurant and Bar. Great food and stuff. Atmosphere is top notch, and it is literally 7-8 minutes from your house.

I'll be there by 6:00 pm-ish wearing a Irish Tweed Hat, Orange 'Frames' shirt, and Green pants. How do I know this? The Advertising Agency where I work is having a bit of a party in the afternoon, and I like to impress the pretty Account Executive ladies... :)

Stop on by, I'll buy you a pint )

I'll try to make it but we wanted to walk and that might be a bit too far to trek tonight. We may try and catch a cab to make an appearance but my lady has a 10AM appointment that i have to take her too so i can't really sleep it off if i get sloppy. Hopefully we'll be able to stop by and say howdy.
