What is "The Brown Album" mentioned in The Deadstring Brothers' press release?
When your head's hitting the ground, when you're picking gravel from your knees, when you've spent the night gathering up your clothes, and "Exile on Main Street" and "Brown Album" LPs she threw out the window onto the lawn last night, you are ready for the Deadstring Brothers.

And, have you seen this:

I'd venture to say that it's referencing The Band's self titled release. The album was all brown with just a sepia toned pic of the band.

I think it's commonly referred to as the "brown" album.

I could be wrong though.

Another DVD to pile on the credit card. Gracias for the heads up, even if it was directed elsewhere.

Damn. Stumps me. The second Band album is a good guess, but I've never heard it called that.

And I wanted to see Wrong Eyed Jesus when it played the Film Fest here, but missed it. Glad to see it got distribution. I'll definitely catch it in the next while.

Derris is on to something, or at least a good bullshitter, which is entirely possible

Yeah, I was just hoping that there was something I was missing.

I mean, yeah, The Band is awesome and all....but I wanna hear Acetates of the lost Levon Helm/John Phillips classic "CAIN AND ABEL"
