That scene where the guy hanged himself was incredible.

I also hope Tony dies.

Good episode, especially after last year.

well, I knew about the hanging, so that wasn't a surprise, Ray dying on the FBI agent was fucking priceless though.

not enough Paulie Walnuts...though I know he's gonna have a couple of huge storylines this year...along with 'Bacala'

great episode though, I think its gonna be a hell of a season.

I thought it was exciting. I had absolutely no idea what was going to happen, plot-wise so I was quite surprised at the ending. There's no way he's dying though, not with 17 more episodes left. Two deaths, a hit and run and a shooting made for a great beginning, relative to previous season premieres. And the William Burroughs prologue was excellent.

hilarious. I thought Ep1 was great though I'm gonna have to watch it again this week. I missed a couple things b/c I had guests who I was trying to feed. And we had a couple of pops as well.

Does anyone know what Junior said before he popped one in Tony's gut?
Why did I think it sounded like German?

yeah, it was an italian swear and then "malenga."

so, junior thought it was pussy malenga. now, i think that pussy malenga is the guy who junior wanted to kill at vesuvio, which led to tony burning down vesuvio. and that was the catalyst for junior making an attempt on tony's life in season one. it's interesting how these things come around again.

It was the fucking dude's name that he kept saying was after him.

They foreshadowed the shit outta Junior popping Tony, but it was still a cool/unexpected move.

The hanging was BRUTAL, and shows that Tony, while a pretty good boss overall, has some weird leadership decisions to make. I guess it shows everybody the only way out is death.

Good episode, and hopefully the denouement of a show that is in danger of overstaying its welcome...As a legendary show. It is still highly entertaining, but the last few seasons have been far from high art or novel concept in television.

i've watched every seeason the same way . . . on DVD in one or two weeks - - and with the exception of season 3 which was off the chains, i think they were all pretty much the same level of quality.

this year i bit the bullet and got HBO.

i was entertained, but the show lost something by adding more episodes. one of the things i really enjoyed about last season was a sense that the show was going to reach its conclusion. now that excitement is lessened.

i thought tonight's episode was going to be like "the test dream" from last season, which seems to be one of the most polarizing episodes of the series. (i didn't like it.) luckily, it came on full.

aj might finally go through something that isn't entirely selfish. the "who am i?", approaching fires, and the monk punching tony were pretty great. the imminent power struggle while tony's in the coma is sure to blow up in the next two weeks. edie falco's already going gangbusters for that emmy. was that gloria trillo's voice as tony's wife on the phone?

he was referring to pussy malenga because junior had beef with pussy before. so he thought it was pussy downstairs "after him" and shot tony.

i posted what i think will happen in this season in the coma playlist thread... didn't see this thread until now. oops.

the whole coma sequence just annoyed me though. I seriously hope this doesn't go on for the next seven episodes.

lot of weirdness in tonight's episode.

but do you really expect EVERY episode to be like the season premiere? imo, i think they are building up possible storylines (ie: aj flipping out and more focus on him, vito/finn, the struggle of power between everyone while tony's recovering).

next week's gonna be good.
