Comedian Jim Norton

Anybody ever seen this guy live? I'm not a big comedy club guy, but I think Busty Rhodes and I are gonna go check Little Jimmy Norton out this wknd.

I love him on O&A---funny dude. I think it'll be a great show and less than 20 bucks to boot.

Oh and he is fucking hysterical. I didn't really like him when he was on that Colin Quinn open panel show but then I saw his HBO special and DAMN! He was being held back on the cable. Dude has no filter whatsoever. He talks about the dark corners of the male psyche.

I'm flying back to WI Sat morning so it's either Thursday or Friday for me. I'd rather go tomorrow but I'll do either.

that's the only place i've seen him and he was definitely one of my favorites. i'm going to have to search for that hbo special.

Ended up going to the 11p show on Saturday night with the fi-an-see. Had a fucking great time---its funny that the few times that I have seen comedy live it always makes me wish that I did it more... For the money, seeing comedy may beat seeing music.... Dunno. Discuss.

As for Mr Norton, he was excellent. As disturbing and fucked up as his material is, dude is an absolute professional. Impressive as shit.

Three quick takes from the night:

1. OK. I understand the power of radio shows. Shit, I wish that I could wield said power. But showing up at a semi-class joint like the Punchline with O&A t-shirts and WOW bumper stickers is fucking garbage. Get a life. At least Jimmy is such a pro that he doesnt leave any gaps in his delivery for a "Ramoooooone!!!" because these waterheads were ready for it. I mean, honestly, Jim was very funny but the fucking O&A pests in attendance would have laughed at silence. I guess living in your mom's basement fucks up your sense of humor.

2. This heckler at the show cracked me up. He probably woulda/shoulda gotten thrown out during the opening acts, but I think that both of the femedians who opened up figured that Jim Norton would take care of him during his set. Amazingly enough, he kept his fucking fat mouth shut until he just couldnt contain himself anymore. Then he tried to give Jim a cigar as he was being thrown out----Jim was like "Thanks you fucking retard." and proceeded to stomp on and spit on dude's gift.

3. Jim Norton is short. Dude ended his set and we got up to leave but the future Ms. Bloor needed to go to the bathroom where she bumped into this tiny motherfucker going into the Men's bathroom. He basically headbutted her hip. When he came out, I shook (having to stoop over to do so) his hand and thanked him for the set. Seems like a nice guy.
