The Hills Have Eyes, in theatres now, is a remake, no? Not a very good one, either, huh?

It's a low-budget, low-watt, medium-thrill movie that will earn a lot more than it cost, huh?

It's the epitome of Hollywood's contempt for the intelligence of viewers, you think?

So, why is Wires on Fire (a Buddyhead artist) on the soundtrack? Can you imagine if, say, My Chemical Bromance or Seether were on the soundtrack what snark Travis Keller or Aaron North would spew against them? So, what's the difference?

I dunno...

Alot fo the recent US Horror remakes, I have been big fans of (Dawn of the Dead, Texas Chainsaw... etc)

I wouldnt be shokced if this is good as well....

The Japanese remakes (except the Ring), I havent been impressed with though...

I hear, that 'Battle Royale' is being remade!

i saw 'the hills have eyes' over the weekend.
it's not going to win any awards.....but i was entertained.
there were a couple of parts that were a little dumb.
but all in all, i wasn't bored at all during the movie.....
and it wasn't so dumb that i was going 'i can't believe i'm watching this.'

A lot of reviewers (like the Washington Post guy) thought it was a good remake. The director also did High Tension. I don't think it's the epitome of anything.

I just picked up the book...gonna start it this weekend.

Josh has that in our netflix queue. It's supposed to be next in line.

I have zero clue what it's about.

It's pretty much about a class of kids that are dropped off on an Island with a bunch of weapons and they have to kill each other until there is one winner left and that winner gets to live and is crowned winner of the battle royal..There is also a part 2, but I have yet to watch it.

a bunch of japanese schoolgirls & schoolboys sent on a mission to kill each other to win. survival of the fittest in the most twisted way possible. it's way rad.

i'm going to be fuckin PISSED if they remake it.

Michael Berryman is not in it, which makes this movie complete shit. It would have been unbelievably crappy with him it due to the fact that they changed the plot, but at least he'd make it somewhat worthwhile.
I don't think I'll see this one until it is out on DVD. I was so pissed at how they butchered Texas Chainsaw Massacre when they redid it. You shouldn't add/remove characters or drastically alter the storyline when you remake a film. I don't think it has to be like Gus Van Sant's Psycho remake, where it is shot for shot the same film, but you should at least try to keep it close to the original.
Wes Craven and Tobe Hooper have made a mockery of themselves by allowing these remakes to happen. I can understand selling out for the big bucks, but atleast have the decency to admit you made some classic B-grade horror movies that shouldn't be messed with.

oh man. For a movie that has the same plot line as most of these "psychological thrillers", High Tension did it wonderfully I thought. I get bored with that plot line(the split personality thing), but I was actually quite horrified by High Tension.

I thought Wes Craven was directing The Hills Have Eyes or whatever it's called.

The movie I want and am excited to see is Silent Hill. I hope they did a good job with it. The opening sequence in Silent Hill 4 scared me more than any horror flick I have seen.

haven't seen the sequel yet... but i think there's a special dvd package with both dvd's so i'm going to look into getting that.
