It's their remix of Depeche Mode's latest single off of Playing The Angel. It's interesting.

Check it:

Depeche Mode - Suffer Well (M83 remix)

There's also an instrumental version of this out too.

In this version you can hardly tell this is the DM song here which, depending on your point of view may or may not be a good thing.

depeche mode's music lends itself really well to remixes, even when the original songs themselves aren't very good.

It's interesting to hear you say this because I find that the opposite is usually true. Normally, DM's remixes aren't all that good despite having great electronic acts doing them...listen to Barrel Of A Gun, official remix album 81-04 for proof of this.

I far prefer the original versions.

Here's what someone else had to say:

Quote:
Their early remixes stay truer to the originals than the newer ones, as technology advances and lets the remixer strip the tracks down to nothing and re-construct, rather than simply extend the songs. Martin Gore, songwriter for DM, has been quoted as saying he's not a big fan of having some outside person remixing finished tracks, and Vince Clarke, their original songwriter, has the same feeling. I am inclined to believe this is more of a record company release, than something the members of Depeche Mode would have had a direct hand in.
