Well, my CMJ compilation project has moved into the next phase.

I went from buying and collecting all 137 monthly cds.
Then I logged them all in my database with correct artists and titles.
Then I ripped them all.
Now I am painstakingly going in and editing all the ID3 tags. So far I am up to Volume 40.

Woah.

I could be done next year.

i remember most of those cds as having one good song and 19 horrible ones. i have no idea why you are doing this, unless it's to try and stay away from your kids.

Actually, my first reaction was "Who has the time to do this?" I'm lucky if I can keep a friggin spreadsheet updated with all my purchases/downloads.

I went to a Half Price Books last weekend and they had tons of them...some dating back to 1994.

how much were they apiece?

i'm missing volumes 1-7, 9, 11 & 12. For 1994, that's jan, feb, april and 2 between july and august (they musta missed a month there).

your next steps should be:

selling them to paladisiac
painstakingly deleting them from your database.

I'm with chase...there's lots of dreadfully bad stuff on those. Why you'd feel compelled to own them all or listen to any of them more than once or twice is a mystery.

Well, I catalog all my cd's as I get them with some software I had.
I ripped them in an effort to have a digital copy of everything I own to be able to access remotely or in an mp3 player.

Tagging the mp3's has come about because the office is getting slow as hell.

I've gotten my resume together and started sending it out to head off the looming layoffs.

Hmmm....maybe $3 or so a piece. They were in the bargain bin. I mean, if you want them that badly I'll pick them up for you, as long as you reimburce me for everything (and they'd have to still have them there of course). Just pm me or something and I'll try and go to that store sometime between now and Sunday and match everything up. Are these CMJ CDs labeled by "volume" or "month," or both? I don't remember...

Volume 041 January 1997
Track 10 - Liquid Soul - World's On A Leash

Phil, you sound good. ;)

I think it's more anal and thorough since I never wash my hands.

Actually, is OCD something you can acquire, because I am crazy particular about keeping my cd's organized and computer stuff, and turning off lights, and counting electrical watts that i am burning up, etc...
