Drinky wins hands down.

Also, I hate St. Paddy's Day. I drink Guinness like its water every chance I get...

Though, I guess this is the one year anniversary of the Storming of New Orleans. I'll bump thread for some reminiscence tomorrow, maybe.

it's more depressing to roll with My Lai.

I just realized I needed to change my name.
So I did.

I refuse to go most weekends because of the crowds, let alone a weekend like this.

I love this holiday, but hate the green beer. An Irish Bar in Lincoln frequented by indie musicians has this awesome Cornbeef dinner for $5 a plate, all you can eat. The owner's wife makes these wonderful Irish potatos made with Guinness and Caraway seeds.
It's the only time of the year that Irish Whiskey is dirt cheap at the bars.

I can't think of a variation on my except for maybe DrunkJack, but that's hardly just for March 17th.

Any holiday that promotes excessive drinking is alright in my book-- St. Paddy's, Christmas, Thanksgiving, Groundhog Day.... the list is endless.

I thought about just changing my name to my real name, but then just went with the last name added on.

Exactly, I hate going to the bar on March 17th, because every lightweight in the world comes out and gets stupid drunk and end up sounding like Harrigan.

Hey guys, nowhere did I mention holidays that promote bar-drinking... I said holidays that promote drinking in general, which typically revolves around family. It's okay to get a six pack of Smithwicks and hang at the house.

If you're serious, I actually think it is with D's in order to distinguish the difference between masculine and feminine. I could be wrong, but I believe that Patricks tend to be Paddys and Patricias tend to be Pattys

Like Paddy Casey...?

I thought I'd join the name change fun too.

The Paddy most likely comes from the classic american slang work for Irish people, especially Irish cops in NYC and New York at the start of the 20th Century, i.e. Paddy Wagon.
Many people with the name Patrick like myself do get called Paddy and I'm sure many Irishmen use it as an abbreviation like I use Pat.
I've always wanted to be called a stupic Mick bastard by someone, but it hasn't happened yet.
