I'm of Irish descent and I thought about it, but ehhhh. St. Patty's day is my favorite holiday fo' sho. I've been known to take off of school and work for it. Not this year though :(

Will however will be tossin' back.

I'm unabashadly Scot-Irish and don't give a fair padiddlin' who approves or nay. Yer all a buncha Mexicans anyway.

Also, "MacGillivray' is yet another obscure joke that makes me crack up, regardless of whether or not it makes sense to anyone else. From the book Fisher's Hornpipe

That's rich considering where you're posting from.

I think you and I might be the only Obners who've read that book, Mr. Spoon.

[Pacino]HOO-AHH![/Pacino]

Very nice.

And yeah, they say I'm indian, but look at a family photo, and it's clear that I bear way more resemblance to the irish than to the dots that raised me. I'm sure that all my freckles ran together because i'm SO irish.

look out.

Heh heh. It would be funny if everyone pretended to be Jewish on Jewish holidays.

I guess I'm something like 5% Irish. Whatevs.

People just like it because of the association with drinking.

My Dad's family are Catholic Scots-Irish people, and my freaking name is Patrick McCabe. My love of Irish Whiskey only makes this day more special to me. Plus, it was the Irish and Chinese that built the Union Pacific line and we invented Machine politics.

I wouldn't know where to start. Does it involve drinking?

I celebrate cause Irish imigrants aren't sold into slavery anymore. Yay! But probably more for the drink, and the comraderie, oh and its great to have a red beard on this day!

I'm a mongrel from Georgia, and I know there's a bit o' Irish in my background, but more Welsh. Why not celebrate Irishness? It's all good, as Damien Dempsey says.

Watch it lady.

My whole family is south side Irish. My ma is a Flaherty by birth.

Very proud of my Irish heritage, my grandfather was the absolute best and owned a tavern on the south side for many years(didn't know my other one, he died before I was born).

When I was a kid we used to truly celebrate it with Irish dinners cooked by my mother or grandmother.

The most we're doing tonight is celebrating with some decorated cupcakes from the grocery store per my son's request.

I got 7 out of 10 and 12 out of 15, I was surprised I did worse on the first one and probably could have went 14 out of 15 if not for a few bad guesses.
