you play what you want to play. i got a call asking me to sub for a dj gig on wednesday and i had very little time to prepare. i took a crate of records, 22 cds, and played what sounded good. it's a britpop/indie/90s alternative/etc night, but i still played goldfrapp and deep dish. nobody complained. people danced. it was fun. i rounded out the night with the rezillos and the buzzcocks. you're the dj; it's your soundsystem for awhile.

if i heard wolf parade at a dj night, i'd probably walk out. i go to "nights" to dance, but maybe it's different there.

Yeah, the dance faction...not so much at this night. More of a be seen scene. I actually used to spin at a few weeklies in Germany when I was younger, so I'm quite accustomed to the role of running shit. I just have not been out much to "indie" nights aside from playing shows, hence the mass query.

Hell, I started this night with a few other guys in '03. Therefore, I will present a Dischord tribute night. Ought to go over tremendously well.
