Oh yeah... for a second there I thought you'd gone back.

Yeah, this was one year ago this weekend. How the mighty have fallen.

Bob's supposition of a monger-switch between me and Chuck (d) looks all the more prescient.

Oh, you should still feel bad for her. I am capable of such behavior at the drop of a hat. That type of thing isn't something you learn: It's in your BLOOD.

i hope it's not the case for everyone. i'm losing a lot of faith in mankind by witnessing the behaviors of men in any environment. seeing my manager check out every girl who walks by. hearing my customers talk about their wives. the 60 year old who waited by my cash register for a half an hour a few nights ago to talk to me.
i hate everyone.

this makes me sad. if you love someone enough you will respect them.
i'm not speaking for you because i know nothing of you as a person, i'm just speaking of your comment.

also, observing behavior like this among the majority of the male population has contributed to my difficulty to trust anyone.

Can you try to explain that you can be a king hell monger on the one hand, and a respectable gentleman on the other?

do you agree? i am so disappointed in humanity. i honestly can't see how (you could ever not respect the person you love), when you fall in love and decide to be in a relationship of any sort you should respect the person you are with with all that you have. this applies to both genders, men just tend to be the more selfish, insensitive, annoyingly sex driven type.

edit: i would think i was beginning to become a feminist if i didn't hate the majority of them and their ideas.

i had to edit i fucked this up with my stream of conscious babbling.

And quit sullying my fine thread about mongering (that, let's be honest, shames the SXSW stuff) with your whining. Start another thread about how you have lost faith in humanity -- I can't believe it took you this long, already.

What part do you hate, the voting? Or maybe being able to have your own bank account? Hey, I know, it could be access to contraception!

i'm sorry that i've led a sheltered teenage life. i apologize for being 17 and learning about the world at "such a late age"

i was just commenting that i felt bad for her. then you confirmed the fact that i should feel bad for her. so i'm done.

well believe me, there are assholes on both sides of the fence.

this is way too big a discussion to get into here but as you wander out further and further into the world (nyc, hopefully) you're going to find that ideals don't necessarily fit into day to day truths. it can be extremely disappointing but you've got to fight the urge to become angry and bitter cuz that's no fun.

life is messy.

(also, I know you're a 17 year old girl, so I don't really expect you to GET most of this stuff) Let's just say that me and Femgar are all good.

you woke shelley up from a perfectly comfortable slumber.

oh, and MY HAIR IS ON FIRE!

elizabeth, you are a feminist just by the fact that you want to leave home and go to college instead of shutting the fuck up and only fulfilling the dreams of another. sorry.

but it's not so bad cuz you can be a feminist and still shave your legs.

not at all. i was just saying.
and i'd never intentionally disrespect someone i care about. i know how much it'd hurt me and i'd never put someone through the pain of betrayal in any form.

what i was attempting to say prior to this post was it's difficult to call many women out because men are more open about these things.

this is how i see it at age 17. who knows how i'll see things in 5-10 years. all i know is it's probably going to be worse and it'll make me feel even more sad about everything.

did i not say intentional?
mistakes are mistakes. you can forgive something like that but when you do something you know would hurt someone you care about then that's wrong.

stop trying to trip me up on things i'm saying. you know exactly what i am attempting to say but you want to look smart.

That's not it at all. Ayah said it best: "Life is messy."

Sometimes intent doesn't matter one whit.
