Tell me about this venue:

Bluebird Theater
3317 E. Colfax Avenue
Denver, CO 80206

If I were to do something crazy like fly in for one night -- how far is it from the airport? Is it best to rent a car? Any decent nearby hotels?

great venue. probably 30 minutes from the airport. don't know of any hotels right near there, but you're a 5 minute cab ride from the heart of downtown.

whatcha thinkin' about???

dia to 70 west to i-225 south to colfax west (for a while). there are some hotels on the way there, but nowhere you'd want to stay (unless you're into drugs 'n' hookers for breakfast).

i've never been in the bluebird -- the one venue on colfax there i haven't been to yet.

like e-stone said, you're a quick cab ride from downtown, and i think there are a couple ok hotels south on broadway/lincoln.

Take the airport shuttle, stay at the Ramada at i think 1150 E. Colfax, and then it's a quick cab ride or a short walk to the bluebird.

I've played there twice.

Not the worst, not the best.

There's not a lot in that section of town, but it's not far from The Fillmore, and there are some other venues nearby too.

Hey Tania, Depending on what time you come in, I could pick you up at the airport. I live about 10 blocks from the Bluebird, so if you are looking for some pre-show party action, let me know.

E-stone, I've got this wild thought floating in my head of flying up for The Editors / Stellastarr* gig next month (April 21st). They're performing in SLC the day after, but it looks like flying to DEN is cheaper.
