I hope this comes over to the post theater soon. I read the book about 4 years ago. Very funny indeed. Anybody else looking forward to this movie?

I, too, read the book a long long time ago and just found out it's going to be a movie over the weekend.

Buckley's brilliant. I hope they don't screw up this movie too bad. I'm soooooo looking forward to the nicotine patch scene.

I'm surprised Xenu let Katie Holmes do the movie.

It was in the can (you know where Xenu really likes to put it ;) ) pre-Xenu.

This looks funny,. Aaron Eckhart can play a-hole really well. I hope his character is a throwback to In the Company of Men.

It sounds like you haven't read the book. You should get on that stat. Its got to be right up your alley. Probably his best although all his books are good reads.

I think a lot of dems are probably scared away by the Buckley name, but you shouldn't be. His books are just hilarious political novels that should be enjoyable regardless of one's political philosophy.

I've read everything he's written with the exception of Florence of Arabia and Steaming to Bamboozala. I have Florence at home but just haven't gotten around to it yet.

hey bill, have you finished Florence yet? I'm struggling with the wink-wink veils of popular culture and the real world in it.

Haven't read the book, but I imagine it's better.

The movie was solid but it wasn't nearly as acerbic or sharp as I expected. There's a cute little kid involved, some tired stock characters, and some hit-you-over-the-head moral crises.

And I can't stand movies that end with trials/hearings. It's like the end of Scooby Doo when the writers remind the viewers one more time about the conflicts involved.

Aaron Erkhart is great, though.

No I haven't even started it yet. I'm still on the same book I was reading at Xmas. Unfortunately my appetite for buying books is not matched by the time to actually read them.
