‘Chulahoma’ is a 6-track, 28 minute collection of songs that were originally written by the late Junior Kimbrough. Reworked and recorded, The Keys capture the very essence of Junior’s style better than any other musician today. Roomy and sparse in production the drums/guitar duo fill out every inch of these songs with distorted guitar, drums, and Dan’s soulful vocals.

It's Vermont dial up, which is as slow as fake maple syrup (I'm going to go kill myself now). It generally takes a half an hour for one song, if I'm not doing anything else. I could, though, download it while I'm sleeping.

Awesome, thanks.

Something to note for the future, if I may, though.

Since mp3s and other lossy formats like JPEG are already compressed and stored in what is essentially the most efficient way possible, ZIPing it usually has no effect, and can actually make the file bigger if something goes wrong in the compression process. Plus, its one more step to do before getting to the file on the receiver's end. Just a little tidbit I though I should pass along.

black keys have been one of the most consistent bands of the last few years...always putting out great albums, always putting on great live shows. i'm surprised more people aren't on their bandwagon around here. i'm thinking particularly that this'd be something that loogar, yail, and people with similar tastes probably enjoy the crap out of. read: pm sent

Yeah, I'd be down as well. Didn't even know it was out. I generally really dig all that Fat Possum is doing these days. BKs are among my crop of can't miss bands.

Does anyone have their DVD?

ok, i just sent out like 30 PM's on this....i'm sure it will probably have to be re-upped at some point. i'm pretty sure i got all the peeps who PM'ed me, and those in this thread that didn't PM...as well as some people who probably don't even give a shit.

hopefully the mega-upload thing works.

also (+3), when you launch megaupload, there will be a counter at the top right counting down from like 20 or something. when that is done, the actual d/l is hidden behind an ad you have to close at the top right.

sux, but ysi wasn't working for me.

Yeah, ysi was crapping out for me earlier, but it seems to be back on track now. I've uploaded a few already tonight.

Thanks for the link.

I found this elsewhere. This EP is every bit as excellent as their other work.

I have the DVD and ripped the audio from it. Trouble is, I think the software prematurely cuts off the end of each track. It's only slightly annoying but the show is outstanding and worth a listen. Those interested in hearing it PM me. I'll probably be a little slow to respond, so be patient.
