I didn't like the first album at all and found the excitement over them kind of perplexing. Maybe it was all that 'new garage rock' chatter. I thought The Hives had a few good songs though.

And that Jet song was catchy the first few times I heard it. Then it just seemed like it was...everywhere. I think they played it at a funeral one time, subtlety was mourned.

I am, however, a sucker for their cover of 'Ms. Jackson' for some reason.

This is pretty much my story. There were some great tracks on the first one but by the time the second was released I didn't care anymore and now I probably care even less. However, if I hear a great tune my interest may come back.
