I was reading Vice magazine on the can last night and there was an article where the author was hanging with Pete Doherty. He refered to occasions where Doherty would give short-notice solo performances in his sock feet at his apartment to whomever he could scrounge up in order to get 10p to score.

He's a sick man.
Just like Shane MacGowan, I wish they would both just WANT to get well.

But, the media coverage of it is boring. That I do agree with.
Leave the poor slob alone with his vises.

Sadly, I think it's too late for MacGowan :(

How can we blame the media for this idiot being arrested everytime he leaves the house?

I was torn between he rocks and a judge needs to lock him away. I love his drug riddled sloppy music but he really needs to clean himself up and being put away for awhile might give hime a chance for sobriety.

When I worked at a record store we used to get sooooooooo tired of seeing his face on the British music mags. I just don't get what the big deal is? He's nasty looking and his music sucks. (The obvious answer is that he's entertaining... guess that counts for some people as "being in the entertainment business".)

I am going to take exception to your assertion that his music "sucks".
Maybe it's not as good since leaving The Pogues, but you cannot find fault with a song like "Fairytale of New York" or "If I Should Fall From Grace With God" or "The Sick Bed of Cuchillain" or... hell just about anything he did with The Pogues. Could you?

I think the board knows where I stand on things like this.

Dear Mr. Todd I would never ever say such a thing about the Pogues. "Fairytale of New York", "Lorelei", "A Pair of Brown Eyes", "Sunny Side of the Street", "Thousand are Sailing"....i love them all dearly, and the list goes on & on .... I was talking about Doherty.

Yeh, it's too bad neither the Libertines nor Babyshambles were as good as some shitty band of stringy-haired, Gitane-reeking, try-hards from Montreal.

beat me to it. brothers in arms.

Pete is a visionary. He needs to smarten up a little bit but I got no qualms with him and in fact greatly admire his fine style.

"Fuck Forever" is a song that regularly rolls around in my head.
