Not to be a Dick, but do people actually still listen to NOFX?
I always found them mildly humorous, but didn't understand why they had so many militantly loyal fans.
I'm sure I have my copy of Heavy Petting Zoo somewhere here.

My band covers "Eat the Meek" and always gets a huge response. Don't know why.

i just went to see them
at house of blues in chicago
the opened with the decline
and played about a million songs after that
it was an incredible show
from some old motherfuckers

i dont know what it is about em
i just never out grew them
they've never compromised what they do

i would agree they seem to
write one good song, one stupid song
over and over again
but holy shit they write a lot

their later stuff isn't as good as their earlier albums (punk in drublic, white trash...) but they're always pretty entertaining and it's cool that they refuse to be on MTV and shit like that.

it's a good ep. getting a little bit too preachy for my tastes though.

I listened to that live album not too long ago, forgot how funny some of it was.

I pulled out Punk in Drublic the other night. I like "The Brews". It was a gateway to better punk in my mind, much as Blink 182 or some of these others are to kids today. Sophomoric, but still nice to crank sometimes.

not in the least. Maybe you misread. I meant that inevitably some of the kids that listen to Green Day or Blink 182 will search out other punk bands, of better quality and punk creed. Hell, I don't know too many kids who listen to punk that started off with a Black Flag album under their arms.

My first punk album was the Dead Boys.

But I'm an old fart.

for me "the decline" kicks the shit
out of the rest of them

punk in drublic was my first punk album
and its still great
(however, i can't stand "the brews"
every punk song with the word "oi" in it is totally schiavo)

but either way
i think every album they put out after that
has a few great songs on it
i thought "war on errorism" was as good as any of their others
its just so similar to the rest

even though its the same song
i get excited every time they put out a new one

and i especially thought this last year was great
because i got a new 7" in the mail every month
one good song / one stupid song on every one of em
