I was at the same show as Aural and puma and can confirm that they weren't just "not very good" they were awful. I left the stage area and went to another part of the club to save my ears after a few songs. Worst live band I've seen in years. I've never heard their recorded material but I wouldn't be inclined to seek it out based on the live show.

I have their CD and it was a fun first listen, but now I can only take one song at a time. Still some pretty catchy stuff and "Take Off Your Clothes" was a pretty great song for a promiscuous sex mix I made. Points taken away for using their name in "Nth Degree".

I contacted Lidell's booking agent about his upcoming Chicago show via email and he told me Jamie won't be with a backing band, which means it's just him pretending he's by himself in a studio messing around. Our man Z can attest, skip this because for most of the night you'll be bored. We caught him at the MCA in the spring and walked out very disappointed. Lame. "Multiply" is brilliant btw.

my one reservation about calling jamie lidell solo a live bust is that we saw him at a seated show. we sat there while he turned knobs and pushed buttons for an hour. the best part was obviously when he invited people onstage to dance at the end. i saw vitalic over the weekend and the guy didn't do anything. he just stood behind a table of gear while pushing buttons and turning knobs. and the place was electric for half of the time. and it's because, like, 300 people were going bananas on the dance floor. i think we just got a bad venue. i doubt i'll go to the bottle show, but if he comes around with a full band sometime, i am so there.
