damn...its amazing how many bands we talk about on this board as being gang of four or fall rip offs, and we always forget about the swell maps.

Frig. I thought he was older than 49. But I guess he wasn't the most chirpy of people. Probably aged hard.

This sucks. I've been meaning to get the second Swell Maps and check out solo Nikki Sudden for a while. I love Trip to Marineville, and I agree that it's a crime how little mention that band usually gets.

49 isn't very old, and he died right after a show? Man, this is begging for a really obvious and unfunny joke. I'm glad no one has made it yet…

Just received Sweep The Desert by mail last week, and while it hasn't effectively blown me away, this news certainly does.

I'd like to locate a review of the NYC 'finale'.

So both brothers - Nikki Sudden and Epic Soundtracks - go down before they hit 50? Well, that just royally sucks.

I always preferred the Stones fetishism of Jacobites over the post-what of Swell Maps, if only because I didn't have to use the word "angular" to describe the former. Aw fuck it. And damn.

There is a Nicki Sudden song on Tower of Mong that is too jail to describe. Thankfully I didn't hear about anything "angular" from him til after he died.

This dude, Buck Owens, it just don't pay to be GAR these days does it?

i have to admit that i have no idea what is being said here.
it's like ATL-speak, except it doesn't involve drinking, dragging a sandwich across one's chest or strippers.

You got a problem with neutered, psuedo-intellectual, po-mo-mongerosticism?

translation: Stones are more better at depravity and don't jitter up them geetars and Wire-up them voices.

Well, this sucks. I've been listening to his Treasure Island album a lot lately.

The thing is, as Radcliffe and I recently discussed, guys like this don't live long lives.
