(Sort of music related)

Someone here at the office is selling a 20GB "ipod photo" for $250 Can.
Is it worth it or is it a dud?

I think that's a little steep for a used 20GB.

I probably wouldn't buy anything below 30GB, because you don't think you're going to need all of that room, but you really do. Or, rather, that's what I found for myself.

Whoa, not worth it. Can't you get a new 30GB for $250 CAN?

I ordered a SanDisk Sansa e250 and it's only 2GB. I'm just not sure I need all of that space because 2GB can hold a lot of albums and I'm not trying to put my entire CD collection on a portable mp3 player, just enough to get through each week.

Thanks guys. I'll take your advice. Even though I'm a gadget-head I've steered clear of ipods entirely up until now. I just saw the ad and thought it would be fun to have for my trip.

I'll wait.
:)

I like knowing I can hear almost anything I want, any time I want to. Also, I listen to most of my music through my iPod, so if it's not on there it would probably take me much longer to actually give it a listen.

I still rol with a 15 GB and it's prefect, because I don't have a whole selection on there, but it's still like a week's worth of music. Plus, I don't just throw shit on there and forget about it right away (my biggest gripe with ipods), so I have to kinda keep tabs on whatever I haven't had a chance to listen to yet.

But yeah, that's ridiculous for a used 20 GB.

Although I'm sure you can get a better deal, I would definately recommend the Photo version of ipod.
That's what I use, and being a photographer, it has come in immeasurably handy, acting as an external hardrive as I tote a bunch of 10-100MB images from workstation to workstation.
