I was out of the loop for 5 days (went home for dad's b-day in Atlanta). What'd I miss? :)

btw, Yail... I drove through your fair city on the way back to Atlanta from PTC... apparently, there was a huge wreck on Hwy 74, and traffic was re-routed through Tyrone. Never found out what happened, but it must have been major as they had both sides of 74 closed off to traffic.

I woulda made the monger set proud... Monday night? two gin and tonics, two margaritas, three beers-- all within a 4 hour period. That Sweetwater 420 is some good shit.

Where'd you go in PTC to eat/drink?

That wasn't a wreck on 74, that's just 74 now I think. It doesn't move. Some of those people haven't gotten out of their cars in months.

Nah, it was a wreck, Kyle.... police blocking off the road, re-routing onto Crabapple Lane.

I didn't eat anywhere in PTC... oh except for the Chick-fil-A fix I got for lunch on Monday. Most of my time was spent in Atlanta, as the party for my dad was a surprise and wasn't until Sunday. He was surprised alright... he totally didn't recognize me!

As for Atlanta... met up pals at Brewhouse Cafe on Friday night. Had Bangladeshi food at Panahar on Buford Highway. Got a Cuban from Kool Korner on 14th. Had brunch with a pal at Einsteins on Juniper. Dinner at Murphy's in Va-Hi. Breakfast at Pastries a Go Go in downtown Decatur. Dinner at Mexico City Gourmet in Emory/Decatur and then many many drinks at Taco Mac in Decatur afterwards.

Atlanta's huge as usual.... kinda depressed by the fact that there doesn't seem to be a sense of "home grown" anymore. Everything's a fucking chain. It was good getting back home and seeing family though... it was a nice way to connect back to my roots, and help me realize that it isn't all quite as bad as I make it out to be at times.

It was fun driving 90 on the highway again, though!

Yeah I think the beating Atlanta gets sometimes is pretty unwarranted. There's plenty of great local places to eat and TONS of stuff to do. You just gotta seek em out, like any big city.

Ah Taco Mac. I love going there just to look at the wall of beer taps. Impressive EVERY time.

Yeah, there was a really bad accident with a fatality right around the Dogwood Trail/74 area. Since I take Dogwood Trail to work, needless to say it fucked me up.

Hey Dana, speaking of Chik-fil-a, did you ever eat at the one that used to be in Lloyd Center?? It has been harder convincing my wife to make the short trip to Oregon from Seattle to visit my parents since it closed :( lol

Yeah, I did... this is why I can't go into that food court anymore, because Subway moved into their space. At the time, I was pretty good friends with the VP of Subway development, but have since realized she was a royal bitch. Anyhow, get a bad feeling in my stomach whenever I see that. It breaks my heart.

photos from the trip... ever wonder what Dana looks like drunk? The cat is my sister's cat Cyrano... three-legged and always craving attention.

The up-the-nose shot is classic.
