big star tribute album

i was on a twilight singers fan page looking to see if i can find the artwork to powder burns and found this little news item of interest:

Apparently, Koch Records will finally release the Big Star tribute album Big Star Small World on May 23. The album was originally scheduled for release in 1999. Word is, it will have all of the originally planned songs, including "Nightime" by The Afghan Whigs as the leadoff track.

I had this on my to-buy list for about 5 years. Gave up on it. Wonder what the fuck took 'em so long? They should've expanded it or something after all this time - 'cuz that track list doesn't do all that much for me anymore (and, yes, it's all about me).

"thirteen" was an "outta site (outta mind)" b-side. it's really not very good.

by the way, has anyone seen matthew sweet lately? he covered sxsw for vh1 with susanna hoffs. oh my god, he's enormous.
