Is it just me, or is the crowd at indie shows unusually tall. I'm 6'2", and I usually get stuck behind someone taller than me. The Arcade Fire show was the worst. I swear, the average height was about 6'3".

Not the case in Nebraska, I always feel like a giant around most of the scenester people at shows. I'm like 5' 11" and it seems like everyone else is hovering between 5'4" and 5'6".
I always have to get to the front of the stage for my girlfriend and brother, so
I usually block alot of people's views, but they could always get there early.

the show was great. the sound was a bit off, but that's because webster hall is crap. ian brown had sound problems also, but the show was filled with so much energy. didn't see the band though after the show.

I usually show up around the 2nd song into the last band's set.
But, that's just me. I also consider 5 minutes late to be on time.

If it's a big show that I want to actually see close up, and there will be alot of people there, I just bring my 35mm Nikon.

Girl+camera= front row center, every time.

All the dudes who habitually occupy the first row happily offer you to stand in front of them. You don't even have to ask, they ask you. It's very kind of them and I appreciate it. See, chivalry is not dead. (indierock style)

what if there's only girls in the front row? do they offer you a spot or give you dirty looks?

Ha! That would be me -- I give 'em the ghetto look, pretending I'm swinging my huge ass earings and say, "Excuuuuuse me, where d'ya think you're going, bitch?"

yeah seriously, I never let people in front of me because they always pull like 20 people with 'em. Screw THAT noise.

but if they're solo and shorter than I am what the hell.

LOL! i'd probably do that too, if they showed up late. hence my early birdness obsession.

I only let girls I come with or know in front of me. I never let any of those fashionably late High Schoolers get in front of me, because when they are they usually jump up and down on my feet and talk about the most asanine shit while I'm trying to enjoy the show.
Overall, I'm pretty protective of my personal space at shows. I really get pissed when I've stood through two opening bands and people try to worm their way in front of you for the headliner.
