I just had a dream in which the Prince of Darkness (Phil) and Z (James) moved out west and were now living with me. What was additionally odd was that one of my best friends, Maria, also moved in with me. I'm assuming she left her husband and was finally asking for a divorce.

Wait...that wasn't the oddest part.

Here's the odd part -- Phil and James were hitmen. You know, the "you've wronged the wrong people now I'm gonna kill you" kind. I could hear the shootings going on outside of my flat (in my dream, I lived in a flat near downtown LA which looked nothing like LA) and asked Maria if she had heard the same. "Aren't you concerned?", I asked her. To which she responded, "Phil has a daughter and he's made some sort of arrangements with a cop in Chicago to get her back by killing some dudes in LA." Huh?

The dream ended with Maria and I being awakened by the gunfire, Phil and James returning to the flat completely hyped about what had just occurred. We decided it was best to go out for the night and hang out at a bar.

I have a feeling that having the TV on while I slept could've added to the dream. "Columbo" was on. Was there ever any sort of gunfire on that show? I dunno. I'm still half asleep.

Phil? James? Are you guys secretly hitmen?

oh, this is excellent. i have never even been to LA. i'm sure that phil and i would make quite a hit crew, though. maybe he and i need to think of other ways to pad our incomes...

Btw, you guys killed two guys, planted the gun in one of the dude's hands to make it look like they killed each other. Verrrrrry clever of you. ;)

And, Phil, of course, you can move in with me. As long as you don't mind blowing up your mattress every night and sleeping on the floor. As for hitmen connections, my sister works for the PD, I'm sure we could get you some references.

haha, that's my kind of job.

is it bad that when i saw syriana yesterday and heard the plan to drug the guy and then run a truck into him, i was like, "that's not a bad idea at all"?

No, really, that's what I meant. (If you had seen A Close Shave, they refer to one of the sheep as "Sean" [pronounced Shorn], and so that's what my mind's browser saw).

Believe me, when I want to be interpreted as perverted, you'll know. (cf. sharing the mattress comment.)

So I find myself visiting Loog, deep in the heart of piss-poor Alabama, last night. I go to his "office," which is a tiny building amidst jackshit in some small town. I go in, he's happy to see me, working behind a desk. But he warns me not to use any board-lingo out loud, as his boss is around somewhere.

I look over in the first room off the lobby, and that's Haq's room. He lives in there. He and Loog are roomates, aparently. He has a massive collection of star wars figurines, as well as some fine bean bags to sit on. He is wearing his snazzy glasses, ala the pic he put up in the beard thread. He is shorter than I figured (or I'm taller in dreams - entirely possible).

I go to take a piss down the hallway (because in real life I drank 6 beers right before bed, and have to piss like crazy), and the "bathroom" is a room that has just a screen wall, like a porch, and you piss at the screen, looking out at the back yard, like a common hobo. And there's a browny / girl scout troop walking by, as I'm pissing, and they don't seem to care. Nor do I, because in real life, I gotta go pretty bad.

i dreamt last night that it was a few years in the future and we'd made a scrapbook/yearbook-type book. many prominent posters had a page with their real-life bio, online bio, and some of their classic cmj/obner moments listed.

opa wrote the addendum after it'd been finished. he was supposed to write about how most of us arrived at cmj or obner because of music and stayed because of the community, even though many topics weren't about music anymore. he instead wrote about being molested with sex toys when he was a kid. it somehow got put in it at the end and everyone, especially dnorwood, was extremely upset. i don't remember anything other than that.

I love the idea of us putting together a scrapbook in 20 years. Reminds me of the very end of Wet Hot American Summer when they all show up for their "reunion".

strangely enough Yail, I meant to tell you that you share your birthday with my dad. Except... he's like 50 years older than you.

once you make it into a Yail birthday dream, face it, your life has peaked.

i had a dream where z and my parents were sitting in a safehouse watching me get shot at by big dudes with rifles outside of the house. that was a fun one.

Me too!

I made another quiche yesterday, and had friends over. garlic, onion, spinach, mushroom, sundried tomato, sweet red pepper, and parmesan.

And I made raspberry and chocolate crepes.

none taken.

My buddies suggested that I ditch teaching for culinary school. I'm thinking about it, but I don't know if I'd dig it.

I'd hate to take something I like to do and make it a chore...

I have a few friends that are chefs, or at least they work in a kitchen. they still love cooking but kind of like anything else that gets formalized it often takes the joy out of it.
