Friends will be there. Dri and I will be at the Cloud Room show at the Troub.

I saw WAS at SXSW and they were L.O.U.D.

yeah zach let me know how it goes? too bad i couldn't get hooked up through work, but thanks for letting me know about the extra ticket... i ended up dropping almost $500 to fix my car today so i'm not about to spend any more money on shows unless i get hooked up.

still debating about film school tonight, i don't care for cloud room but i'm lagging! need to get ready now if i'mma go...

Turns out NONE of my friends went to that show, said they were all feelin' lazy and didn't feel like going. I, on the other hand, fulfilled my evening plans. Dri did not.

sorry.... i didn't get back from the mechanic until about 7 or so, and by the time i finished getting ready, ate and headed out- there was serious traffic on the 101 south so by the time i got over to the troub, i said fuck it because it was already late and i only wanted to see space mtn & film school.

how was the show?

No worries -- all bands were good! I had a complaining niece with me, but in the end, she said she liked Space Mtn and Cloud Room the best. :)

I talked to Michael and Chris from the band today at Lou's Records as part of a piece I'm going to write on We Are Scientists for launchcommit.com. They were really nice guys. They said the show last night was amazing. Probably the best reception they've ever gotten stateside--and in LA of all places. Unheard of. Then they offered to put me on the guestlist for the sold out show tonight. Really solid guys, can't wait to see em at the Casbah.

I saw them walking around Austin while at SXSW, stopped them and asked to take a photo with me. When I mentioned that we had to represent "Claremont"...they stopped and looked at me. "Wait, how do you know Claremont? Are you from there?" I guess people have forgotten that's where it started.

Have fun tonight, Ducky! I totally dig the Casbah as a venue.

My good bud, James, was in a band with WAS's drummer in college, so I was able to chat with the drummer for a bit before Foreign Born went on. He was a nice dude. They had a great chemistry onstage, and were really pumped to perform. What a refreshing show...if only they all were that damned good.

I saw them back in October and knew nothing about them. I dug what I heard from them, so I might look into them further. Kinda reminded me of The White Octave (which I may have said on this board before), though that may be completely off base when I hear their recorded stuff.
