Perfect example, where every fucking word he says is gold.

Pacino is very quotable in GGR too.

What are you going to do about it, asshole? You're fucking shit. Where did you learn your trade, you stupid fucking cunt, you idiot? Who ever told you that you could work with men? Oh, I'm gonna have your job, shithead.

Also, Jerry Stiller as Frank Kostanza is the greatest TV character of all time, but i guess that's not a movie.

Top 5 T.V. characters of all time...

5 - Detective Pembleton - Homicide: Life on the Street
4 - J.R. - Dallas
3 - Ted Baxter - Mary Tyler Moore Show
2 - Kramer - Seinfeld
1 - Archie Bunker

I think David Brent beats them all hands down. I'd throw in Basil Fawlty as well.

Amy Archer from The Hudsucker Proxy.

i agree. But the thing i love about Frank Kostanza is that he's hardly ever there so when he is it's a real treat.

Wouldn't Kevin Spacey's proper character name be Roger "Verbal" Kint in that movie.

Technically speaking "Verbal" Kint didn't really exist :)

Great movie, but my pick for most memorable character from The Usual Suspects would have to be Benicio Del Toro's "Fenster"

A couple others I just thought of that are faves of mine:

Yosarian (Alan Arkin) - Catch 22
Sgt. Oddball (Donald Sutherland) - Kelly's Heroes

and because I can't recall a female character being mentioned yet...

Mrs. Iselin (Angela Lansbury) - the original Manchurian Candidate.

David Brent is a favorite of mine, but he's just too damn pathetic to be #1. Top 5 though.

Though comedies is like shooting fish in a barrel in a category like this, I could throw out probably every character in Friday, though there is only one SMOKEY!

"YOU GOT KNOCKED DA FUCKOUT!!!"

"Don't be sendin' yo raggedy-ass, busta ass, jheri curl ass niggas to shoot up me and my homeboy!"

But votes could esily be made for DEBO:

"You want some of this homie!!"
"Dat's MY BIKE PUNK!!"
"FUCK YOU THEN PUNK!!"

or Crackhead Ezell:
"Buy me a 40, its my birfday!"
"My neck, my back, my neck and my back, I'm suing you for 50,000 dollars, but I'll settle out of court right now for 50 bucks!"
"I steal, I don't kill"

and Pops:
"That's my PLEASURE!"
"I Spend my whole day wit my foot up a dog's ass!"
"Don't nobody go in that bathroom for 35-45 minutes..somebody open a window!"

The first character to pop in my head is Navin R. Johnson (The Jerk)...but then I really love the characters and dialogue between Rosencrantz and Guildenstern (R&G are Dead, based on Tom Stoppard's original play).

All solid choices, with the possible exception of Ewing. Definitely Ted Baxter. Pembleton's great, but I'd have to give honorable mention to Al "G" Ghiradello.

You're right about Ewing, now that I think about it I don't know how I could have forgotten this guy...

Oh, and Dr. Gregory House is a pretty epic character too.
