Pete,

Some Nats tidbits for you. They contended most of the year last year before fading down the stretch. Finished around .500. Avoided a major problem when their major off-season addition, Alfonso Soriano agreed to move from second base to left field. Top of the rotation with Hernandez and Patterson is as good as any, unfortunately the bottom of the rotation is worst than most. Lineup is solid but not spectacular. Bullpen was excellent last year although one of the core guys got hurt during the World Baseball Classic and is out for the year. Could contend for the division if they can avoid last year's injuries and get some production from their 3-5 starters. Could also contend for last place if things don't fall into place.

Sweet, thats what i need. Ive just been reading up on espn.

2-1 down at the moment. I can only get the Atlanta game today in an hour or so, which is a bummer.

I will cheer them on till the end!

Giants. all the way in a weak NL West. Not a ringing endorsement, but I need something to hold onto.

Since you are a Nats fan, I must hate you now. Sorry, just the way we roll up 95. Seriously though, you should be a fan of a team with more tradition such as say the Orioles. Oh, and to the first person to post "tradition of losing"--screw you.

Look, I can hear the cheers from my house when the O's do well, and you have a point.

But don't you think that if someone is going to start fresh with baseball they should pick the league that's actually playing baseball? You know, like in the rulebook, where the first page says 'two teams of nine players'?

Ew, the Nationals? Blech.

I don't think they even have a local television deal.

The Nationals might be the worst team to start to cheer for. They are vanilla. If it wasn't for Soriano they probably wouldn't have been mentioned on ESPN until today. I guess you have elephantstone to thank for that. You should have taken a collection of votes then wittle those teams down then go forward until one is selected.

The nationals......boring.

So how much interest is there in the UK for baseball? I read an article recently about more games being show on tv, as you are talking about. Stuart Murdoch is supposed to be a fan. Also, there's a Londoner (not an American in London) who posts at a Padres board I go to.

WOW! I didn't either. And this whole time I thought it was just a lame baseball glove logo with no meaning.

a couple of things....

i would have offered up eleventy-one as my number. who would that have been?

mets would have been an intruiging pick, they're always kind of fun to keep an eye on just bc they always fuck everything up

and...god bless the brewers for going with the old logo. i love that thing.
