Surely you know by now that Rads hates everything?

they're just all too good of musicians (except kiedis i guess) to be compared to nickelback, even if it was radcliffian hyperbole.

Good musicians, you say? Well shit, then would it stop you from soiling your drawers if I compared them to Foreigner instead of Nickelback? Here, try this:

A '90s So Cal version of Foreigner, with George Clinton-produced inept funk moves as an added bonus.

That should dry your impotent tears. Unless, of course, you've got something against Foreigner.

(we'll let Frostingspoon explain how great Foreigner was, because he's the type of blowhard charlatan who pretends to like everything no matter how unbearably shitty in a transparent attempt to appear reasonable)

Nah, Foreigner were only good on a few tracks like "Head Games."

I actually loathe a lot of stuff. Just not always the same stuff as you and Billzebub and billy g.

And you always come back with good reasons why you don't like stuff. I certainly wouldn't call it hyperbole. Just specific caustic contempt.

That's more along the lines of what I was looking for. But seriously, have you heard Brother's Cup? I can how something like "Sex Rap" or "Catholic School Girls Rule" might be seen as George Clinton produced inept funk-punk, but the grooves on "Yertle the Turtle" (yes, a musical presentation of the Dr. Seuss tale) and "Brother's Cup" are just too thick, too crunchy one might even dare to say, to call "inept." I know there's about zero chance of actually getting taken up on these (and even less of them actually being liked) but even so I'm offering up YSIs of the these two aforementioned tunes. Je vous en prie...

Though it's possible there are some acts I simply don't find unbearably shitty. Foreigner's not one of them by many miles. Except for a handful of mid 70's tracks, they're one of the most ham-fisted acts ever.

I may be facetious and I might like some mellow stuff, but the only charlatan aspect of my personality is my on-air banter at work, as I'm required to be a charlatan in such a format. "Transparent" is a supposition only supported by other suppositions, which aren't genuine beyond conjecture.

Because another person hates something it doesn't follow I should, nor does it then mean I love everything. Because I don't.

Not that it matters here, but I don't pretend jack. I like it, don't like, am ambivalent about, hate it, etc, based on personal tastes, just as every music listener does.

So when I say I like "pussy-ass shit" like Durutti Column and Azure Ray, I do in fact mean it.

I really enjoyed the early Peppers, but as others have mentioned, it's waned for me, too. I have a DVD of them at Slane's Castle or something like that, and it's really sad.

Their drummer is one of the most boring players ever.

And to think I was thinking about getting a RHCP tattoo. Whew, that was close.

You gotta admit, this is a pretty funny pic. Image

Keidis has never been able to sing and his lyrics are extremely gooftard very often, but cmanhatan has it right about how much fun the albums up through BSSM are. After that, they got fooled into thinking they were important artists and went all "November Rain" on us for the most part.

precisely. the band is tight tight tight...flea is sick, always has been, always will be. hillel and frusciante are both great in very different ways. early on kiedis was the main problem but i really don't listen to him much at all when i put on sthg like "freakey styley." i'm more interested in the music and much less the lyrics and singing. and the thing about kiedis is that he's gotten so much better. he sounds great on bssm, californication, and by the way.

i highly recommend seeing them live, even now. saw them in 2003 (yes, which is terrible, i realize. wish i could have seen hillel play) and it wasn't bad at all. they played some little "jams" between song that were so tight and even if they weren't 100% improvised they were incredible. knocking the chilis is a waste of time considering all the other shit there is out there.

You should try applying that same logic to your own posts next time you feel the urge to whine that mean ol' Radcliffe "hates everything."
