I saw these guys live sometime in late 04 and they weren't bad. I never got around to picking up that first full length of theirs.

despite the terrible "name" i'd still love to hear what this has to offer; the debut has been in pretty heavy rotation for me recently...especially the first few tracks.

so uh, if somebody would oblige.

Yea, I was disappointed with the album title name, but it doesn't really matter since the album is ridiculously awesome.

Right now, I'm a little let down by the Ghostface album, but I've only listened to it 1.5 times. Some of the individual songs are great, but there are definitely some skippers for me right now.

TVOTR and Liars are my top 2 so far this year.

OH YEAH. i thought you guys would find this interesting as well:

massive attack's new album is going to be released in early 2007 "weather underground" and they've been in the studio with dave sitek and TV ON THE RADIO - one of the several collaborations for the album.

massive attack + tvotr= oh hell yes!

that's what i'm saying. they aren't collaborating on the whole album, but still, i'm very intrigued by that.

too bad we'll have to wait a year.

I do what I can.

and yes, Massive Attack + TVOTR is almost too good to be true.

I'm wondering if it's hjust Sitek though or the entire group.

according to the emi press release from 3/27 for massive attack's "collected":

Quote:
Massive Attack are currently in the studio and have completed seven tracks for their fifth album, “Weather Underground”, with long time cohort and co-producer Neil Davidge. At present, they are dividing time between Bristol and New York where they have been recording with Dave Sitek and TV On The Radio, one of several collaborations for the album.

that's all it said. i just saw that tidbit yesterday and got a tad bit excited.

this album is still in high rotation for me, and it keeps getting better and better. however, i think i have the unmastered version, and i'm curious what changes the final release will have.

i'm very impressed by this album so far. we'll see if it gets into a built to spill kind of category . i still haven't come upon the new liars and everybody here is absolutely gushing about it. i can't wait to give that one a spin.

The new built to spill is also in heavy rotation, and fast joining the Liars and TVOTR for favorite new record this year.
