I'm not really a fan, so I wasn't awestruck or anything, but I shook hands with the drummer and I think one of the guitarists and grumbled a hey. I guess the other guy was their tour manager or someone important enough to be constantly using a blackberry in some form or another. I kept my hands off of him

I sometimes forget that I like them. Then I'll hear a song and be like, "holy shit, do I love the Strokes." Probably the only band I've ever done that with.

So true (that he would be disappointed), but it wasn't the time or place to do that and I'm sure they get that all the time. Besides, their gatekeeper guy was laying on the schmooze pretty hard for anyone else to get a plug in. The whole thing lasted probably three minutes.

i know exactly what you mean. i never think of them when i'm trying to name some favorite bands for whatever reason, but then a song of theirs comes on on itunes and i'm like, "damn, i fucking love this song." i still haven't heard the new one but people seem to like it.
