I heard their show in Omaha last weekend was great, which is quite different from everything I had heard beforehand. They pretty much sucked on national tv during late night appearances.

i saw them last year. i knew only one of their songs before the show. i thought they sounded pretty good, but the vocals are even worse in person than recorded. (yes, it's possible. nobody would care about this band if not for those pipes.) and they're not very exciting to watch. if you like them, go. if you are lukewarm on them, sell the tickets.

I do like the album. I can even stomach the voice. I think I'll go but I think I'll skip the opener (The Brunettes) and go have Chipotle. I wasn't too impressed with the cut I heard from The Brunettes. BTW, that J. Mascis cut you posted was cool. Makes me wish I would have gone to the Dinosaur Jr. show.

I don't think Chipotle is all that. Overpriced Mexican food when I can go to the local corner and get it for a whole lot cheaper.

When I move to Scotland, I'm gonna open a Mexican restaurant.

Or Northampton! In fact i don't think we even have a mexican restaurant. I love my enchiladas & Quesidilla(sp) sandwich. Every day when i was in LA, Hollywood Blv, forget the name of the place though.

I always feel like an idiot going to Chipotle in LA, but I swear, there aren't that many good, non-sit-down Mexican places near the Marina, unless I'm missing something.

I saw the show, from where i was up front i found it good, both the brunettes and cyhsy but i heard in the back the sound was terrible so i don't know. His voice was masked by low mic'n so i could understand him suckin at full volume with his weirdness.

you will be able to sell them the minute you get there. all their nyc shows sold out.

the singer lacks a personality. only one dude has personality, the others are whatever, and the singer is negative on the alive scale.

the satan song is good though.

I believe my stances on these two possibilites are well-documented...

I'm pro Chipotle and very anti-bad singing.

i've been digging on this album a lot. only heard it for the first time about a month ago and couldn't get into it at all at first. but then i read somewhere that 'the skin of my yellow country teeth' was far and away the best song, so i gave that a shot and really fell in love with it. that and is this love? back to back is a really great 1-2 punch and it warmed me up to the rest. only thing i haven't come around on is when he starts screaming "CHAS TISE CHAS TISE CHAS TISE" at the end of the album. what a miserable way for it to end. i love "gimme some salt."
