Anyone remember watching this back in the day? If you were a TMNT fan, it was just about the coolest moment of your life. I remember it being unusually dark for a kids movie too.

The second one was also fun, but by the time the third came out, I was all turtle'd out.

The second was far better, or so I thought as a child. I went back and watched it recently and, hooboy, that's a stinker.

I had the same reaction too. My parents were saints for bringing me to these movies and watching them with me.

i remember the first one being most totally excellent when i was in eleme ntary school. but i must admit that coolest moment of my life (at least until the next coolest moment came along) was when fuck Vanilla Ice started rapping while the turtles kicked ass in #2. holy shit that was awesome.

<------- saw it in the theaters on the day it came out.

everybody i've ever spoken with about that movie has vivid memories of the scene where splinter is in his cage learning kung fu. that stop-motion stuff is way creepy, its like a tool video or something.

jesus, I thought you guys were older than I was. I don't remember how I felt by the first, but by the second I thought everyone had given up. Other than ninja rap, of course). Didn't someone try out for a part in that....oh yeah.

Much like Borg, I enjoyed the first two but was all turtle'd out by the time the third one was released. I have the soundtrack to the first one on cassette.

Yes. Also, it was one of the if not the first movie that i went to with my friends instead of my parents. In fact I don't think a single parent was in that theatre. Which is why there were hoots and hollers from the audience which sometimes makes fun action flicks more fun.

Things that i auditioned for, but was not cast:
1. TMNT 1
2. TMNT 2
3. Jean Claude Van Damme vehicle Cyborg
4. Empire Records (got a call back!)
5. Fred Savage/Howie Mandel vehicle Little Monsters
6. 3 episodes of Matlock

There may be more. There was a lot of filming going on in that town.

That NES game (at least the first one) was so frustrating. Those underwater levels (deactivating bombs or some similar nonsense) probably game me ulcers.

I don't remember watching these back in the day, though my friends and I were obsessed with the animated series and everything to do with that. An obsession which was transferred over to Mighty Morphin' Power Ranger as soon as that show debuted.

But I did catch all three TMNT movies over a couple weekends on YTV recently and they were pretty decent, surprisingly so.

natural mike - those fucking bombs were horrible. almost impossible, really. i played a lot of that game but never saw any of the movies (was a little too old).

Yes, I still have that game and still get fed up with the underwater levels. But then again, I hate swimming levels in any video games.
