how sweet and wonderful of you, ft. i like it a lot and it reminds me of one of my favorite paintings by ingres which is similar in subject. it's great and now i just have to figure out how to post an avatar.

sorry it took me so long to respond. i've been pretty much off the board since the holidays and just saw this today.

i swear i am the biggest technical motard on the planet. i (believe i) followed your instructions and i keep getting the message that the image has to be under 10k. i'm on a mac--does this make a difference? computers make me nuts.

You need to paste the image properties into the off-site avatar slot, not the regular avatar one. It's the the last avatar choice on the profile page.
Don't use the first two choices. Use the third one that hotlinks the image and steals bandwidth from the originating site.
