This is certain to draw the ire of KPH, but after watching last night's Spurs-Mavs game, I've come to the realization that Tim Duncan is washed up. Yeah, yeah...plantar fascitis, blah blah blah. Dude has no fire left in his belly. It seems like years since I've seen him hit the once automatic bank shot from the wing. He NEVER dunks anymore. EVER. He's getting outrebounded by guys a foot shorter.

I mean, he was brilliant in his prime, brought them three titles, but his time has passed. And that makes me sad.

one of my most hated athletes of all time. hate tim duncan. not really sure why - mostly just his disinterested look and boring ass game.

at least your team is good. the blazers are unbelievably bad. going for the 1st draft pick - too bad this is a horrible draft year. they really need to do this again next year to get Greg Oden.

They're nowhere NEAR as good as everyone thinks they are. Paper tiger this season, nothing more. There's only a very slim chance they'll make The Finals, and even if they do, absolute zero chance they beat the Pistons. Their run of titles has ended.

As you no doubt know, the Blazers have lost 11 consecutive games, the third-worst losing streak in franchise history. The record is 13 set in 1971-72.

But it doesn't stop there. More than one person has wondered if the Blazers will win another game this season, and the way they have played, it seems a reasonable question. That would run the losing streak to 20, which would break the all-time NBA record for most losses to end a regular season.

The record of 19 was set by Cleveland in 1982.

The NBA record for most losses in a row during a season is safe, but not by much. It is 23, set in 1996 by Vancouver and tied in 1997 by Denver.

The overall losing streak record is 24 set by that Cleveland team, which lost its first five games of 1982-83 to add to the 19 it finished 1981-82 with.

It's mind-boggling how quickly this season has been reduced to talking about NBA futility records. Exactly two months ago today, the Blazers beat Minnesota to improve to 17-28, a .377 winning percentage, fairly respectable by rebuilding standards and a pace that would have produced a 30-win season.

But since then, Portland has gone 3-25 and lost 18 times by double figures, seven times by 20 more and four times by 30 or worse.

Dude, he's playing with an injury and as I understand it (being my dominant 5 foot 8 inches), this is one that absolutely sucks to play through. Pretty much as simple as that. Every part of his game is reliant on a set of strong legs -- without those, he's Will Perdue. I'm pretty sure this season won't result in another championship, but to call his career over? I think that's short-sighted at best.

I heard no team has a higher losing percentage in a decade than the Bengals did in the 90's.

edit: but we have next year!

It's probably ridiculous for me to say his career's over, but it's DEFINITELY on the downslide. The thing about his injury is that it's really subsided in the past couple of weeks, but it's the DESIRE that he seems to have lost more than any sort of physical ailment. It just seems like his heart isn't in it anymore. That, and he just can't hit that fucking bank shot from the wing anymore.

I am not going to dissuade you from this line of reasoning. Yet this doesn't faze me.

I'm siding with KPH. He's got a brutal injury (so i've been told) and is basically playing on one leg. This guy is an will be again the best PF in the NBA. I'm not a Duncan fan and find his game boring but he's the most consistent player in the NBA when he's healthy. I wouldn't be suprised to see them in the finals again this year and be even better next year.

I would LOVE for you to be right. I have never wanted to be wrong more than now.

What about that time you hailed John Vanderslice as the best at anything a few years back.

I think you're negativity is stemming from those damn Rangers. Give it time.

Yeah, Pixel Revolt kinda made a monkey outta me, didn't it? Actually, the stupidest postings I ever made were when I went on and on about how bad Tony Parker was. Without him and his play this season, the Spurs would be a 7 seed at best.

Well, that, yeah...but that was understandable torment from zee Frenchie. I mean, I almost had to agree with you.

And hey, I probably thought the Dismemberment Plan were better than the Beatles from 1999-2001. Whew...

It's a combination of the Spurs losing to the Mavs last night, and the Rangers starting off 1-43.

Even though the media claims it's his new shot coach, Chip Engellund, who has solidified his game, I give all the credit to his shot CATCH, Eva Longoria.
