This song is mind-numbingly repetitious.
This song contains a non-stop litany of insipid lyrics.
This song is awash in cheesy '80s synths and shrill "Sussudio" horns.
This song was the theme from an ill-advised remake featuring Hollywood's most annoying movie star.
This song is performed by a once-great musician who, by this point in his career, had pretty much become a full-blown hack.
This song is "It's in the Way That You Use It" by Eric Clapton, and I inexplicably like it in spite of all these indefensable negatives.

It must be the bassline.

"Smoke on The Water," which I should hate but damn if the Beavis doesn't come out in me whenever it plays.

Can't stomach the Crapton number, but I'll offer this one--it's awful by every definition, but I still dig it:

You are an obsession
You're my obsession
Who do you want me to be
To make you sleep with me

Two reasons I love this song:

1. The reference to Frank Zappa and The Mothers.
2. "Some stupid with a flare gun."

Good call on the Animotion. I'd say that tune's due for a remake by Mates of State any day now.

Can these be guilty pleasure too, or are we looking at the same description just different wording.

I'm not a large Coldplay fan but i can listen to Speed of Sound pretty easily and enjoy it, even though perhaps i shouldn't.

I like to listen to Lisa Lisa songs sometimes (except "All Cried Out," which is unbearable) because I remember how awesome her boobs used to be. Does that count?

No, because I was all over "Straight Up" when Paula Abdul first hit MTV.

"Glamorous Life" - Sheila E. (GodDAMN that woman can play!)
"Rock Of Ages" - Def Leppard (and I still know all the words.)

I like way too many obviously bad songs to list them all, but a couple of off the top of my head:

Candi - Under Your Spell
Kim Mitchell - Alana Loves Me (and quite a few others off Shakin' Like A Human Being)
Corey Hart - Eurasian Eyes

The obvious answer here is its inclusion in "The Color of Money"

I actually enjoy just about all of ABC's hits, oddly enough.

"Shoot that poison arrow through my heaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaart."

np: Nicolai Dunger - "Slaves (We're Together Like)"

You, of all people, should hate that movie more than any ever released, if for the simple fact that it spawned the parody short "The Hustler of Money" that launched the career of your all-time most-hated NTAC, Ben Stiller.

this is true... this particular song just reminds me of wearing my baggy pants (pegged at the ankles, natch), with some garish paisley shirt and low-slung belt, dancing at the school dance with my friends.

I've never even heard of that...I have an ability block out most things he has ever been in.

And if you EVER imply that ANYONE should hate Color of Money again, I'll sick Bloor on ya. (His bizarre obsession with this movie is near comical)

I can abide the actual movie, but I just figured the mere mention of it would send you into Stillerriffic convulsions. I think it aired on a late-'80s episode of SNL, which led to him becoming (briefly) a featured player, which led to him getting his own show on Fox, which led to him being the theatrical bane of your existence. But, yeah, the movie's pretty good...crazy Cruise be damned.
