i dig a lot, it's been on daily rotation for a few weeks now. i don't really know your tastes, but if you liked perfect from now on and keep it like a secret, this record falls somewhere inbetween there, but much less polished than either of those two records. good stuff, check it out.

I'm only through a couple of songs but really like it so far. It just seems more smooth than Ancient Melodies or something. I think I'm really going to like this one.

it sounds like a built to spill record. so far there's no obvious hooks that have grabbed me, but i can see this being a grower, especially once the lyrics get deciphered..

i think it's fucking fantastic. "conventional wisdom" is catchy and awesome, "going agst your mind" is just so strong and raging...there is not a bad song on the album.

My god is Conventional Wisdom catchy. Expect to see this in a car commerical or hocking something in the near future. I'm happy for Mr. Martsch, this album should be a huge success. Oh, and I'm definitely feeling a Dead vibe with this record as well.

Initially i think it's better than Ancient Melodies but quite a bit below PFNO, KILAS and TNWWL. This is only after a few days worth of listening (at work in the background and a few songs in the car) but hopefully this weekend i'll be able to throw it on and focus.

Conventional Wisdom and Goin Against Your Mind are the two standouts.

Ancient Melodies of the Future was pretty boring. This is much better and more akin to some of the earlier releases.

Amen. This is a heckuva recovery from that Ancient Melodies fiasco. That's a surface opinion. Hasn't sunk in yet.

Boring. I only remember one song, and that was only because I used it on a mix cd I made. Maybe I'll take another listen soon, but all of my listens several years ago left me unimpressed.

Having been disappointed to varying degrees with every record since TNWWL, I can't imagine I'll like this album very much. KILAS was the closest I came to being fairly satisfied.

This is the only BTS I've ever heard, so it's got to be more a matter of them just not being my bag, baby, than it not being a good BTS album. It seems like all the BTS fans really think it's one of their better efforts, so listen to them, not me.

np: Tom Petty - "It'll All Work Out"

Not true. I'm a big fan and this record easily ranks 4th or could be 5th. Maybe it'll grow but albums 2-4 are the gems.
