Ha, I do that a fair bit between seasons, mainly because I'm too lazy to put on proper shoes until it gets cold and it's easier to kick them off once I get back to college

This is the correct answer for button downs. They are see-through without a t-shirt underneath. Wear a 'T'. It looks funny bizarre otherwise.

'T' under a pullover is normal if its cool weather.

a guess: Agreeing with a President you disagree with in total is trying to be diplomatic in a foreign place. Give them time to see through another lens and they may adjust or not.

#2--always wear a tee under button downs, cause I sweat. In the winter I do it so if I get hot I can peel layers. In the summer its strictly a style thing.

I haven't gotten into the "popping" of the collar thing yet though.

are you referring to when the ex rugby-playing metrosexuals wear their collars 'up' as opposed to the conventional 'down'?

Don't ever do that. They are referred to as the "Collar-Up Boys" and they always have thickly gelled hair with blond streaks. Some girls go crazy for tossers like that.

They are mostly frat boys. I'm a rugger, but I play with the forwards (hooker, flanker) so I would never wear a T-shirt under a polo in warm weather. But like I said, I'm a forward and no self-respecting forward would. Those pretty boy backs are a different story. I know many a fly-half,center, winger do that type of thing.

That is a good point. Americans travelling in the past 6 years have had to deal with every foreigner feeling the need to start a conversation on how much they hate Bush, can get the point where you actually start to defend him somewhat

That's alright. These exchange students will spend a few months here and realise what an evil small-minded, pandering little fuckwit out prime minister is, so be able to counter any comments about Bush very effectively.

Then we'll all be able to complain together about how fucked the world is.

When I didn't work in an office setting, this was always my rationale for wearing a t-shirt instead of a wife beater. You never know what the temp in a building is going to be. You can be cold one minute and hot the next. Depending on where I was working or attending a class, it was nice to be able to tie the button up around the waist and go with the tee. It sure looks better than a wife beater.

I tend to only wear the wife beater with the more see through shirts, since most of my tees have print on them.

The singlet comment made me laugh, I can only imagine how many people would call me "fag" or challenge me to a match if I was wearing my high school wrestling singlet under my clothes.

Okay, maybe not the smartest college students.

I don't know, the photo didn't work. Are the button-up shirts buttoned? Or are they hanging open like a sleeved vest? I wear a t-shirt under my shirt every day. Dress shirts cost north of $35. T-shirts are 3 for $10. Pit stains don't come out.

boy.....i have seen alot of people "overseas" dress like complete fools....this thread is dumb

if i want to wear an undershirt under a button-up then so be it and i dont care what you think.

also about the bush thing - regardless if you like him or not, always brings me joy when people support our country no matter what. just b/c times are tough doesnt mean you should talk smack about your country. trying making it better instead.

Is this response commonplace amongst young democrats? I mean, WTF?

If your country once had a history of cannibalism, it's a good time to bring that ritual back. Just make sure you tell your new Americans friends that they're going to a barbeque or something.

well we are a country founded largely by convicts, and there was a large incidency of cannabilism among them. Especially the hungry ones.

I can understand..Americans have a pretty large obstinent streak in 'em.

Cos if it's fuck me, then you KNOW its fuck you!

And I wouldn't let a bunch of people who's toilets run backwards to tell me about my country or my president...

Oh, and why would you NOT wear a t-shirt? for some of us wife beaters don't stop the sweat where its most needed: armpits.

And I am wearing flops and jeans right now...no popped collar, but I guess I could remedy that.

I somehow doubt most people would comment about your dress while travelling abroad. They'd probably think you were a Pro-wrestler, Loogar.

I'd look about 7 in a wifebeater. If I pleayed NCAA ball, it'd be the dude with the t-shirt underneath the jersey.

and it sounbds like you have a bunch of douches there. Colleges, despite being the youth culture and all that bullshit, are still running at like a 70% douchiness level in this country.
