You guys heard this stuff yet? I never thought I'd like anything like this again, but it's pretty good.

We now know who doesn't use the search function, nor looks at the hip hop forum ;)

I'll admit to never looking at the hip hop forum. Don't guess I really considered this hip hop. Hmmmm.....driftwood.

I put "Crazy" on my mix in the fall. Dig it a lot. I've got a few tracks on my computer, though I don't think I've listened to them much/at all. Might do that in a little bit though.

Is the rest of the stuff more soul-ish than rap? I think people tend to lump it in as rap since its Danger Mouse and Cee-lo, who are predominantly rap/hip hop.

They cover Violent Femmes with Gone Daddy Gone, which is no where near as good as the Gano voiced version. The other stuff is ok, nothing as rocking as Crazy. I really dig Cee-Lo, so I'll probably pick up the full length when it hits, all I have now is the EP.

dangermouse is really hit or miss, sometimes his beats just bore the shit out of me. crazy is a great track though, sounds like some quincy jones. it's good to hear cee-lo doing some more straightforward soul tracks, i've always felt like he wasn't living up to his vocal potential.

my bad. I scanned the first three pages yesterday before posting this and couldn't remember anything from previous days. Guess I just didn't pay close enough attention.
