Everyone who has even a passing interest in swamp pop NEEDS to own this record:

Tommy Mclain - The Cajun Rod Stewart

Imagine Matthew Sweet crossed with Rod Stewart crossed with some cajun band and that is this record

Damn. Well, I'm not an experienced parady threader. Funny side note. Tommy Mclain is in the Swedish Rock N Roll hall of fame.

Parody thread or not, I think I'd like this disc more than that snoozer Velvet Crush one. 8)

I'd say don't worry about it. Todd can't do the ysi thing and if I decide I want it I'll buy it.

Do you recommend it though or was this whole post a complete joke.

Tommy Mclain is considered to be the godfather of Swamp Pop. I haven't listen to it since I was little honestly. If Swamp Pop is something your interested in, then this is a good choice to start. Blends rockabilly with cajun and little soul. Him and Freddy Fender are juke box staples in bars that have clientele in their late 50's to early 60's. I want to check it out again myself because I'm basing this off my memory and haven't listened to it since I was probably fifteen.
