Sounds like a good deal to me. They have the best sampler discs in my opinion, and they have been much more reliable in the past with the magazines.

I'm still waiting for my $80 back, either that or my two years worth of magazines.

Subscribers, especially recent ones, ........is it safe? Tell me damn it! Is it safe?
.................

Olivier: Is it safe?... Is it safe?
Hoffman: You're talking to me?
Olivier: Is it safe?
Hoffman: Is what safe?
Olivier: Is it safe?
Hoffman: I don't know what you mean. I can't tell you something's safe or not, unless I know specifically what you're talking about.
Olivier: Is it safe?
Hoffman: Tell me what the "it" refers to.
Olivier: Is it safe?
Hoffman: Yes, it's safe, it's very safe, it's so safe you wouldn't believe it.
Olivier: Is it safe?
Hoffman: No. It's not safe, it's... very dangerous, be careful.
..........

I'm talking Dustin Hoffman in the Marathon Man asking Olivier as he drills the fuck out of his teeth demanding if it's safe. Is CMJ safe? Do they have their shit together?

Because my two subscribing experiences with CMJ was like a Nazi drilling into my teeth and enjoy it.

So they're only giving the deal to newcomers and screwing their loyal subscribers? Sounds like typical CMJ.

does it still take a full extra month to receive each issue in the mail, if they show up at all? this frustrated the !@#$ out of me.

them: "since it didn't show, we'll tack on an extra issue at the end of your subscription."

me: "that's great, but if i can't rely on issues ever arriving, what value does that extra at the end have for me if i never see it?"

FWIW, I've gotten my issues over the last year or so right on time.

They have stopped issuing them with months on them. I think they just have volume numbers now. I sort of prefer this method as it is more of a surprise that I got one, instead of having them pile up.
