Living in Ft. Lauderdale it's funny how I take for granted the beauty of the ocean. Lived here my entire life (32 yrs) , yet I haven't been to the beach in at least 8 years.

On the other hand, I have yet to see snow and have no idea what anything below 32 degrees feels like. Also , I've only seen the leaves change colors only once when I visited NYC a few years back so..... soak it all in Daystar and remember..... when you enter the ocean you are no longer top of the food chain.

I miss the coasts but I do love the big thunderstorms here in the midwest! We didn't have them in CA. or the tornados (or is that spelled tornadoes?)

Mid-Atlantic and Southeast gets both! Well, no tornados but thunderstorms and ocean. Yippee!

Daystar,
Have fun, but be careful [cue cheesy jummy buffet tune] sometimes seeing the ocean can change one forever, you may end up moving to the coast! [/cue cheesy jummy buffet tune]
I'm burning CDs for the rental car--I get to drive a car this weekend, weee!---and headed inland for some adventure with the wife myself.

The interesting thing is that when it comes to tornadoes I'm like the midwesterners with earthquakes. get very nervous when I hear the possibility of one happening. Difference is that there is no notice when you get an earthquake so it just happens and you ride it out. With Tornadoes you get some warning and see some amazing shit happenning. the green-ish colored sky and al.

edit:

Have lots of fun Jen! I hope the weather cooperates.

I too take my ocean frontyard for granted and forget there are people who have never seen it.

I should say have a great time daystar.

Excuse my ignorance but is that anywhere near Wilmington, NC?

I had a great few days in Wilmington, i met a girl from there on my travels and a few weeks later i headed over to Wilmington and she taught me how to surf.

NZ is about the same size as Colorado, the 8th largest state. We got mass, yo.

If you are a Brit, then you'll be able to work sooner than, say, an American, Because Belize is a Commonwealth nation, season is from (USA) Thanksgiving until about mid-August. It is nearly (and this is a good thing, if you think about it) impossible for a foriegner to be a guide, however.
