It depends how much ...erm... 'baggage' you got. If you need support, I'd go with Briefs or Boxer Briefs. Otherwise, stick with Boxers. Most people I know would rather see a guy in Boxers -- they think it's manly or something.

The best rule of thumb is "The bigger you are, the bigger your underwear". Body size, not genitalia. For exercise purposes, though, commando ain't gonna cut it. Boxers tend to rip under stress, so I nominate the UnderArmour boxer briefs for the hombre with an active lifestyle. But only when active. When at rest, go commando.

Dude, if you're gonna use a sock, you should definitely go with tighty whiteys. The sock is just gonna keep falling out the bottom of the boxers. The briefs will hold it in there steady.
