as far as student-teacher taboo thing goes, i think that's not an issue as i'm not really a teacher so much as a "teacher's assistant" sort of thing, and it's fairly unofficial the internship i have. there are internship papers that have been signed but i still feel like my connection with the school is extremely informal. i, for example, don't have a student or teacher ID card and just walk in out when i feel like it. i'm not concerned at all on the level of getting in trouble with the school because my time there is done. i'm no longer affiliated with them.

That was done fairly soon after receiving the email, en francais of course. the question was not "email her back or not" it was never that. that answer is clearly "pursue this as far as it will lead you," the issue is i always have a hard time gauging a girl's interest. for all i know she could just want to exchange emails so she can practice her english. the problem is that it could be a romantic endeavour, but it could just as equally be nothing. the issue is that i got a more serious feeling from the verbal exchange in person...the email makes me feel less that way.

as far as reading body language, it's rather hard via email.
