I've been logging many hours listening to both these records and I was wondering why Spiderland was such a landmark album compared to Tweez? I have to admit that I listen to Tweez a lot more than I do Spiderland, and while I think both albums are very good, I feel that Tweez never gets the recognition it deserves, while Spiderland gets a shitload of praise. Any other Slint fans want to discuss? (sorry if this has been discussed before).

Maybe because Tweez sounds like watered down Big Black? I guess that could just be the production, but it just is nowhere close to being the statement that Spiderland is.

I can't think of any better case of "no contest" between two albums by the same band. Spiderland is a Top 10 record for me.

yeah I realize the production is a lot crappier on Tweez. Maybe I'm partial to it for sentimental reasons. I know I probably sound like a big idiot for even bringing this topic up, but I always felt that Tweez was somewhat underrated. And that's nothing against Spiderland at all, I brought it to work today and enjoy it everytime i listen to it.

washer is such a good song. Spiderland is better, but yes tweez is underrated. It will never reach the heights of spiderland. The sooner you accept this the sooner you will be able to live your life again.
