He is a nice beast. He bought me a beer. He introduced me to Mojo.

Image

That large, black, foot-looking thing is a full boot of Spaten Optimator, and sketchy drank that thing all by his self. Then, he and Mojo went to another bar, and proceded to make lots more beer disappear, in my absence. I met them there later, drank more of their beer, and then flitted off again, wishing them well.

Last I heard, they were going to go to Gomeroki, which is excellent live band karaoke with The Gomers. Mongering will surely follow. God speed, gentlemen.

You blew it. You can get out from behind the bushes now.

Also, talk about how much you'd like to meet Sketchy. And such.

I can now whole-heartedly endorse this statement. If anything, he's actually nicer in person than on the board. Man-crush.

I wonder what became of them last night?

I have an appointment with sketchy to show him the new house around 4, so details to follow I guess.

There's also a reeal good possibility that my inlaws will be at the house when (if) I bring him by. Can't wait to hear how THAT introduction goes.

Better or worse than Cotton meeting ZE DOKTOR when Loog's was in Philly?

WORSE. Cotton/Loog gets to end in some harmless ball-breaking. Sketch/Inlaws has the potential to end in curled eyebrows and awkward silence.

WORSER, if Sketch's refers to the missus as "the First Mate".

I am proud of that nickname, and hope it catches on.

Here are your options,

1. Introduce him as your ex-roommate
2. your fourth cousin (that'll explain that internet thing, how else you gonna track people down?)
3. your friend (this always works for me)

i.e. This is my friend Colin. Who needs a beer?

I don't get why introducing Colin to the in-laws would be a problem. Colin's fairly harmless. And a drunk Scottish guy thought he was an angel -- who knows what your in-laws will think.
