There are worse things to do than takin the boat out, drinking some beer and catching a few speckled trout.

I went fishing last year for the first time in nearly a decade. I successfully caught two Smallmouth Bass. I do the Catch Photo Release method, since I don't actually like eating fish. I would mount a master angler on my wall though if I ever caught one.

I really like bigger game fishing like Tarpon. But yeah it's a good excuse to drink beer and hang out.

That's when the fishing itself is exciting...but yesterday it was 78 degrees, the water was calm, my boy has a CD player on the boat (New Truckers and Without A Net were played) and we just drank some beer and forgot about our troubles.

It's like TBurge said: ain't nothin better than puttin boats on the water.

I caught a 3.5 foot long wahoo on my honeymoon. Should've kept the fish and thrown my husband back.

Damn, I want to go out on a boat now. Stupid work.

You should fish the Grand Isle Tarpon Rodeo at least once before you die. Nothing like it on earth.

Grand Isle, LA ( 1 1/2 hour south of New Orleans). Last weekend in July. People come from all over. Way more decadent then Mardi Gras without the tourist. I've seen stuff in public there that I can't repeat on a message board. I don't know how it we'll be post-Katriana because it took a beating. It's one of the oldest rodeos in America and I think the largest Tarpon rodeo in the world.

Fishing is one of those things I absolutely love but rarely get to do. One of the best ways to spend a Saturday if you ask me.

I live within walking distance of a small urban lake. I keep thinking I'm gonna give it a try for fishing. It's not much but why not. I wouldn't eat anything caught out of it. I miss the good midwest fishing for bass and bluegill. But first, I need to finish my thesis.

I used to fish when I was little.

We lived on a pond and my brothers and I would, honest to goodness, walk down with our poles barefoot and sporting rolled up jeans (should have been overalls).

We once caught a fish with a bunch of holes in it.
