Not all of us were as musically advanced in our teens as cemetarypolka, Blue Milk, splates, a mighty good leader, O Stihl and MARKCLARK, so I thought it might be a fun exercise to go back and look at who our favorite bands were when we were teenagers. These were my Top 5:

5. Queen (tie)
DEVO (tie)
4. ELO
3. AC/DC
2. Rush
1. Van Halen

Other than the top two, the rest aren't *too* embarassing.

This is difficult because I had probably three teenage phases where I listened to different types of music - Early (Pop), Middle (Metal), Late (Grunge/Punk/Indie).

1. Iron Maiden
2. Dio
3. The Smiths
4. Dead Kennedys
5. Carter USM

Probably Hum, Pavement, Korn, Limp Bizkit and Weezer.

I used to like rap-metal like whoa back in high school.

THERE'S BEEN A NAME CHANGE, FT.

I didn't know that some of those other people were teenagers. Actually I don't even know who O Stihl is.

Cemetery's going to be mad you spelled her name wrong.

I've never been able to pick a favorite band or favorite album, really. I could probably make a list of five, without order, though. I'm sure most of you have an idea of what they are already.

I don't personally like them, but I doubt many people would find Van Halen or Rush embarrassing.

14-18

I made two lists just to show how radically within a year my musical tastes emerged. Crazy how one enters high school and things get opened up.

If we're talking high school it looks like this:

Jimi Hendrix
The Doors
Pink Floyd
Lynyrd Skynyrd
Dinosaur Jr

Junior High would probably look more like this:

Lynyrd Skynyrd
Elton John
Paula Abdul
Janet Jackson
Michael Jackson
